SIMIS Seminar on Field Theory and String Theory: Orientifold Calabi-Yau threefolds: divisor exchanges and reflections

Speaker: Xin Gao (Sichuan University)

Abstract: We systematically constructed orientifold Calabi-Yau threefolds, encompassing both divisor exchange and multiple divisor reflection involutions. Expanding our classification, we reached h^{1,1}(X)=12 using a database from the Kreuzer-Skarke list. We identified 156,509 proper divisor exchange involutions, and explored over 1 billion reflection types. Under these involutions, we clarified some ambiguities in determining fix locus in the literature and improve our algorithm to make the process much efficient. New type of Z2 free action on the Calabi-Yau was found. Moreover, in O3/O7-system orientifold Calabi-Yau threefolds, we investigated “naive orientifold Type IIB string vacua” by considering D3 tadpole cancellation. The smoothness and Hodge numbers splitting of those orientifold Calabi-Yau threefold was also determined.
