An operator algebras seminar at SIMIS: Twisted Roe algebras and their K-theory

Speaker: Liang Guo

Host: Huaxin Lin

Abstract: In this talk, we will introduce a notion of a coarse algebra associated with a metric space, and construct the twisted Roe algebras and a twisted coarse Baum-Connes assembly map associated with this coarse algebra. We will cover basic properties of the twisted Roe algebras and the K-theory for the algebra associated with a metric with a coarsely embeddable fibration structure. As an application, we provide a new proof to the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture for a finitely generated group which is an extension of coarsely embeddable groups. This is based on a joint work with Jintao Deng.
