String Theory

Director: Bong Lian

Professor from Brandeis University, USA. His research interests include representation theory, Calabi-Yau geometry and string theory. In his recent work, he studies mirror symmetry of singular Calabi-Yau varieties, and their predictions in string theory. He received a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in 2003. He was awarded a Chern Prize at the 2013 ICCM for “outstanding contributions to mathematical research or public service activities in support of mathematics”. In 2015-2022, together with 10 renowned mathematicians, Bong Lian was awarded a James Simons Foundation Collaborative Research Grant on homological mirror symmetry and its applications.
