Abtsract: Vertex algebras are ubiquitous in the study of supersymmetric systems. I will discuss how certain vertex algebras yield new insight into scattering amplitudes of four dimensional gauge theory with no supersymmetry.  This method allows one to perform new computations of two-loop scattering amplitudes for any number of external particles.  With four external particles, this computation has been cross-checked against computations done using standard methods.  This is partially based on joint works with Natalie Paquette, Roland Bittleston, and Keyou Zeng.
