Abstract: I’ll discuss some aspects of 2D generalized symmetries, especially the subtle non-invertible symmetries. Within the symmetry topological field theory (SymTFT) framework, I’ll discuss how to capture their ’t Hooft anomalies. When the anomaly is absent, these symmetries enjoy a notion of gauging as ordinary symmetries. I’ll set the stage in 2D CFTs to discuss this generalized gauging and interesting self-dualities.
