Abstract: In this talk I will introduce the basic notion of Symmetry Topological Field Theory (SymTFT) as an organizing tool to understand the global symmetries of QFT. I will provide concrete construction of SymTFT via geometric engineering and explain how symmetry and charged operators are realized as wrapped branes and its relation to Mirror Symmetry if time permits. The talk is based on my work with Yi-Nan Wang (2410.23076), and upcoming works with Xin Wang and with Qiang Jia, Ran Luo, Yi-Nan Wang and Yi Zhang.
