Abstract: We review advances in describing asymptotically flat gravity in three dimensions through holography. By studying the fall-off conditions at null infinity, the model can be characterized by boundary excitations, which furnish the Hilbert space via the BMS3 coadjoint orbits. We explore the implications of this symmetry enhancement, particularly in relation to the gravitational partition function and its holographic connection to Carrollian field theories. Additionally, we provide brief remarks on the inclusion of matter fields.
