Abstract: In this talk we give an introductory survey of the works of Borodin-Olshanski, concerning the harmonic analysis of the infinite dimensional unitary group, specifically their results concerning the construction of determinantal point processes on the real line with two punctures, that come from certain special classes of spectral measures arising from the harmonic analysis of the infinite dimensional unitary group.
