In the 1970s, Professor Shing-Tung Yau solved a series of known challenging problems in mathematics and physics, and created a very important branch of mathematics named Differential Geometry. At the same time, he has made important contributions to many branches of engineering, including control theory, graph theory (applied to the social sciences), data analysis, artificial intelligence, and three dimensional image processing. He is one of the most outstanding and influential mathematical masters in the world today.
