An operator algebras seminar at SIMIS: Transverse index theory according to Kasparov

Abstract: This talk will survey the recent work of Kasparov on transverse index theory with respect to Lie groups actions, and perhaps some applications. Time permitting, some of our contributions to connect it to the “Berline-Paradan-Vergne” approach may be outlined.

About the speaker: Dr. Rudy Rodsphon received his Ph.D. from Université Lyon 1 and is currently an associate professor at Sichuan University, a role he assumed in 2024. His previous positions include assistant professorships at Washington University in St. Louis (2021–2024), Northeastern University (2018–2021), and Vanderbilt University (2015–2018). Dr. Rodsphon has contributed significant research to his field, with publications in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Functional Analysis and Advances in Mathematics.
