The Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (SIMIS) is a newly established research institute based in the Yangpu District of Shanghai. In partnership with Fudan University. The AI Center(AIC) in SIMIS is dedicated to advancing the foundational theories and algorithms for artificial intelligence and large-scale complex systems. AIC has two main exploring areas. One is computing: including GPU parallel computing, distributed computing, matrix computation, linear system solving, and mathematical programming problems. AIC team has played a significant role in the development of the renowned mathematical programming solver COPT(Cardinal Optimizer), and supported open-source solvers such as Leaves, HDSDP and cuPDLP-C. AIC also focuses on the interdisciplinary research of AI models/methods (such as diffusion models, reinforcement learning, big language models, mathematical programming.) in major scientific and engineering fields, and how to achieve breakthroughs and accelerate these major problems.
AIC is seeking outstanding researchers for postdoctoral, assistant, associate, and full professor positions, in the fields above. Salaries and benefits are very competitive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applications should have conducted quality research in one of the following directions: artificial intelligence, computer science, statistics, operations research, data science, mathematics, etc.
- Applicants should have Ph.D. degree by the time of appointment, outstanding records in PhD programs, and strong demonstrated potential and interest to conduct research at the forefront of their field.
- Applicants with strong computational practice experience are encouraged.
