Quantum algorithms for convex and nonconvex optimization

内容简介: Optimization theory answers foundational questions im machine learming and lead to new algorithms for practical applications. In this talk, I will introduce recent advances on ouantum algorithms for convex optimization and nonconvex optimization, respectively. in theory. we prove both quantum speedups and quantum lower bounds for various convex and nonconvex optimization settings. In experiments, our numerical results demonstrate potential advantages of quantum dynatmicalsystems in nonconvex optitmization.

演讲人简介: 李彤阳，现任北京大学前沿计算研究中心研究员/新体制助理教授，博士生导师，北京大学博雅青年学者，国家自然科学基金面上项目、重大研究计划培育项目负责人。他于2015年在清华大学交叉信息研究院(姚班)和数学科学系分别获得工学士学位和理学士学位，2020年在美国马里兰大学获得博士学位，之后在美国麻省理工学院从事博士后研究工作。他的科研围绕量子计算、理论计算机人工智能的交叉领域展开，研究成果已在Journal of the ACM、Phvsical Review Letters、lEEE Transactions on InformatiorTheOry、STOC、ICML、NeurIPS、AAAI等期刊、会议发表论文四十余篇，8次在国际量子信息方向的权威会议 QIP 上作报告。
