Abstract:

This talk is based on the preprint arXiv:2512.23911v1. It should be noted that there are plenty of C*-algebras that have stable rank one yet do not have real rank zero, such as the Jiang-Su algebra, the Razak algebra, and Villadsen’s algebras among simple diagonal AH algebras. However, recently, by analysing the concept of tracial approximate oscillation zero, we found that for a simple separable stable rank one C*-algebra A, real rank zero is hidden behind in a reasonable way: The tracial sequence algebra of A has real rank zero. I will also talk about some applications to topological dynamical systems.
