Abstract: This talk consists of two parts. In the first part, we introduce the development of the algebraic index theorem. Specifically, we review the classical work on the Euclidean space by Elliott, Natsume, and Nest (1995) and present our recent generalization to an equivariant case. This generalization is a joint work with Hang Wang and Zijing Wang. In the second part, we discuss applications of formality theory to the algebraic index theorem. This part is based on the formality theorem for chains by Shoikhet (2003) and the algebraic index theorem by Feigin, Felder, and Shoikhet (2005).
About speaker:
Baiying Ren is a doctoral candidate at East China Normal University, and her supervisor is Professor Hang Wang. Her research interest lies in the field of noncommutative geometry. Her work has centered on the Baum-Connes conjecture , the equivariant index theorem and the algebraic index theorem.
