Abstract:
The approximation of continuous functions on the torus by their Fourier partial sums is a classical subject in harmonic analysis. In this talk, I will present some recent developments concerning Fourier approximation for elements in the reduced free group C* algebras. This work is based on joint results with M. de la Salle, as well as ongoing joint work with Sebastian Vargas.
