Bio
Hongliang Jiang is an Associate Professor jointly appointed by SIMIS and Fudan University since July 2025. Prior to that, he held postdoctoral positions at the University of Bern, Queen Mary University of London, and Imperial College London. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2018.
Professor Jiang works on a broad range of topics in theoretical and mathematical physics, aiming to uncover the fundamental principles of quantum field theory and quantum gravity, as well as their underlying connections to mathematics. His recent work has focused on strongly coupled quantum field theories, utilizing techniques from supersymmetry, conformal symmetry, generalized symmetry, and anomaly to study non-perturbative effects, while also exploring their interplay with topological quantum field theories. He is further engaged in advancing the understanding of quantum gravity within the framework of the holographic principle.
