An operator algebras seminar at SIMIS: Semiclassical Analysis on Curved Noncommutative Tori

Speaker: Raphael Ponge (Sichuan University)
Time & Date: 16:00-17:00 pm, April 3
Location: Room 1410
Host: Huaxin Lin

Abstract: In this lecture we will explain how the results presented in the first lecture enables us to deal with a conjecture of Ed McDonald and I on semiclassical Weyl’s laws on curved noncommutative tori, i.e., NC tori equipped with arbitrary Riemannian metrics.

About the speaker: Prof. Ponge is professor (senior researcher) at Sichuan University in Chengdu since 2019, has been selected for provincial-level talent programs. He is an expert on noncommutative geometry, and his research also involves pseuudodifferential operators, differential geometry, homological algebra, and spectral theory. He has published over 40 scholarly papers in prestigious journals such as Adv. Math. and J. Funct. Anal., contributing significantly to the field of operator algebras and geometric analysis.
