An operator algebras seminar at SIMIS: On the nuclear dimension of Cuntz-Pimsner algebras of shift spaces

Speaker: Sihan Wei (Fudan University)
Host: Huaxin Lin

Time: Tuesday, May 6 14:30-15:30 pm
Location: Room 1310

Abstract: The Cuntz-Pimsner algebras is a class of C-algebras associated to shift spaces. These are (in general) non-simple amenable separable C-algebras, unless the underlying shift spaces are of finite type. In this talk, we will discuss the nuclear dimension of this class of C*-algebras, and it can be related to the dynamical property of the shift spaces..

About the speaker: Sihan Wei obtained his PhD degree from East China Normal University in 2023, worked as a postdoctoral fellow in University of Glasgow for one year, and is now a postdoctoral fellow at SCMS, Fudan University. His research interests lie in dynamical systems, and his work has been published in journals such as Canad. J. Math.
