Abstract: Given a commuting n-tuple of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space, together with a distinguished cyclic vector, Jim Agler defined a linear functional on the polynomial ring. “Near subnormality properties” of an operator are translated into positivity properties of the linear functional. We give a characterization of those cyclic tuples whose associated linear functional is given by a compactly supported distribution. We also give a function model for such tuples using reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. In the end, we will present some recent results on the von Neumann’s inequality. Our approach is closely related to that of the previous result.
