Recent Progress on minimal surfaces in negatively curved manifolds: The asymptotic Plateau problem

Abstract:
The asymptotic Plateau problem asks for the existence and uniqueness for a minimal surface (disk) spanning a Jordan curve on the sphere at infinity in H^3. I will describe some progress of the problem, as well as open questions.
