SIMIS Seminar on Geometric Analysis and PDEs: Free boundaries in optimal transportation

摘要： In this talk, I will discuss the optimal partial transport problem, in which free boundaries arise. The problem was first investigated by Caffarelli and McCann [Annals 2010], where they established the interior C^{1,\alpha} regularity of the free boundary but left open the higher-order regularity and global regularity of the free boundary. In joint work with Jiakun Liu and Xu-Jia Wang, we completely settle the former, and together with Jiakun Liu and Xian-duo Wang, we have made several interesting progresses on the latter. In this talk, I will explain these results.
