Operator Algebras Seminar: Topological freeness of various boundary actions arising in geometric topology and applications to C*-algebras

Speaker: Xin Ma (Harbin Institute of Technology)

Time: Jun-10 14:30
Location: R1310, SIMIS

摘要:
In this talk, I will demonstrate topological freeness of the actions on the visual boundary of a proper CAT(0) space and on the Roller boundary of a proper CAT(0) cube complex by a group with a rank-one element. Then I will show their applications to C*-algebras such as C*-simplicity of groups and regularity properties, such as pure infiniteness, of crossed product C*-algebras. This is based on a joint work with Daxun Wang and Wenyuan Yang.
