Abstract:
Warped cone is a metric space associated to a group action on a compact space. It was introduced by J. Roe to construct examples of metric spaces with Yu’s property A. Recently, it was used to construct metrics spaces with various properties in coarse geometry. In this talk, I will talk about our recent result that a group action on a compact Riemannian manifold does not have geometric property (T) under certain assumptions on the action. This is based on a joint work with Ryo Toyota.
