Cyclic homology, para-S-modules, and group actions

摘要： This talk we will explain how to construct explicit quasi-isomorphisms computing the cyclic homology and periodic cyclic homology of crossed-product algebras arising from group actions on manifolds. This simplifies and clarifies earlier results of Brylinski-Nistor and Crainic. The same approach can be used to deal with group actions on smooth varieties. The first part of the talk will cover background on cyclic homology, periodic cyclic homology, paracyclic spaces and a new notion of para-S-modules, which a paracylic version of the S-modules of Jones and Kassel. This talk will be combination of a talk I gave at the Banach Center (Warsaw) in 2017 and a talk I gave at the Fields Institute (Toronto) in 2021.
