SIMIS Seminar on Derived and Noncommutative Geometry: Turaey Viro invariant from UqSL(2,R)

Abstract: In this talk we discuss our recent work on defining a version of the Turaev Viro invariant for 3-manifolds using the positive representations of the quantum group UqSL(2,R). This invariant has many nice prperties, and we shall focus on an asymptotic behavior referred as the volume conjecture in the literature, which in our case holds for all hyperbolic 3-manifolds.
