Given a mapping class of a surface and a generic invariant SL(2,C)-character, Bonahon-Liu (later reformulated by Bonahon-Wong-Yang) and Baseilhac-Benedetti defined invariants from these data using representations of the Chekhov-Fock algebra. Although they are clearly related, the exact relation is not immediate from the definition since the dimensions of the representations are very different. We will discuss the exact relation between the two invariants and see that the naive guess based on multiplicities is false most of the time. Instead, an extension of the U(1)-invariant by Gocho and Murakami-Ohtsuki-Okada enters the equation.
