Abstract: Ergodicity, in a broad sense, refers to the property that the long-time statistical behavior of a system becomes independent of its initial condition and converges to a unique invariant measure. In this talk, I will discuss how degenerate the white noise can be while still ensuring the ergodicity of stochastic partial differential equations.
The analysis combines techniques from control theory and stochastic calculus.

About Speaker: Dr. Tianyi Pan received his bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at NYU Shanghai. His research interests include stochastic partial differential equations on moving domains, random dynamical systems, and control theory.
